New Things :)

Here's a few things I have picked up over the past few days..

From Left to right: Revlon Nail Enamel in 040 Fuchsia Fever, 093 Tropical Temptation, 345 Peach Smoothie (Scented), Nails Inc In Porchester Square, Fashion Fawn, Electric Teal, Candy Orange.

I'm  pretty miffed about buying Porchester square when Fashion Fawn is so similar (and was free!), but I love the colour so I guess it doesn't matter that  much.

Fuchsia Fever, my new favourite bright pink:

I really love the Revlon Nail Enamels. They apply really nicely and last for ages without chipping or peeling!

Sanctuary Body Scrub, Soap & Glory Hand Food

And now for the most exciting part. I bought the Liz Earle Skincare essentials kit in Combination/Oily, and ohmygod I cannot wait to try everything out! It was about £42 from John lewis.
It contains: 2 muslin cloths, 50ml Skin Repair Light Moisturiser, 100ml Cleanse & Polish, 200ml Instant Boost Skin Tonic, 50ml Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion and a 15ml sample of the Gentle Face Exfoliator.
AND it all comes in this really cute bag, which i will definately be using when I travel in the summer!

I've decided that I am going to wait to use the Liz Earle products until I use some of  my other cleansers and moisturisers up - I have WAY too many, and I need an incentive to finish them anyway!

Until next time! X

P.S. I'm really sorry for not replying to your comments, for some reason my laptop won't let me :(

Just A Dream?

Review: Good Things Dream Cream Night Cream

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and I honestly couldn't wait any longer to review it.

Dream cream is 'a light but nourishing night cream enriched with avocado oil, shea butter and fig extracts. These are intensive natural moisturisers that soften and rehydrate your skin while you get some beauty sleep.' Sounds good, eh?

The first thing I noticed about this cream was the smell. Don't get me wrong though, it smells amazing. I would tell you what it smells like, but I'm awful at describing scents. All I will say is that it smells really nice, and quite calming which is obviously good when you're about to go to sleep. Anyway, I was slightly concerned about this smell, as I thought it would break me out. I could not have been more wrong.

The first time I applied this cream, I was having a pretty awful skin day. Blemishes, dryness, the whole package. When I woke up in the morning, however, my skin had totally transformed. My spots were almost cleared up, and it had really evened out my skintone. I have been using it non-stop ever since, and my skin has been noticeably clearer and healthy looking. It is fairly pricey for the size - around £8/9 for 50ml, however I do think it is worth it, and will definately be repurchasing! I absolutely love it, and would reccomend it to anyone, as I do think that it would suit most skin types!

A little haul :)

I've decided to postpone my 30 day challenge as I simply do not have the time with exams and everything.

So heres a few things I picked up today. Went out to look for a prom dress and failed, but I did pick these up as my skin is going crazy at the moment and I wanted to get some new products to try out. Reviews to come soon.. If the exams don't kill me!

Days 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 (oooops!)

Day 4 - Favourite book:

To be honest I don't read many books. I used to love the Twilight Saga before the films ruined them, and also the Georgia Nicholson books are hillarious. Chris Ryan writes some great action books too, but as I said I don't read much so I don't really have a favourite!

Day 5 - Favourite Quote

'When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.' It seems sort of jokey, but I really think it has a great meaning. Whenever it seems like everything is going wrong, just embrace life and deal with it.

Day 6 - Whatever tickles your fancy

A quick Review - Vaseline Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning Lotion

The other day I realised that I was coming towards the end of my bottle of this and it made me realise just how much I love it. I have a fairly large collection of body lotions, butters, etc, and find that a lot of them can feel quite sticky and uncomfortable on my skin. This however does not. It lasts all day and leaves my skin feeling amazing. The smell is lovely too. Plus its only around £2! Definately repurchasing.

Day 7 - A Photo that makes you happy

I'll give you a couple ;)

This is my beautiful loan horse Ed smiling for the camera. He's such a character and never fails to make me laugh <3

Biffy, nuff said <3

Day 8 - A photo that makes you sad

To be honest I dont think I have any. I was going to use a photo of my cat who sadly died last year, but all the photos I have of him hold good memories instead of sad ones. And Its the same with all other photos I've taken. I take them to remind me of something beautiful or to capture happy times, not sad ones!

P.S. Wooww post backlog. Been super busy with revisiono (first exam on Thursday!) hence the slight delay, will do my best to keep going! Until tomorrow (hopefully!) X

Day 3 - Favourite Television Programmes

Right, this has to be quick, I have three mock exams tomorrow... HELP!

All time favourites are probably Friends(never get bored of it) and Gavin and Stacey (never fails to make me laugh)

Also... Gossip Girl (watching it right now), 90210, Silent Witness, Waking the Dead, ER, 24 and Two and a Half Men.

Until Tomorrow :) X

Day 2 - Favourite Movies

Be prepared for another essay!

These are films that I can watch over and over again and never get bored of:
  • Slumdog Millionaire - such an amazing feel-good film.
  • Four Weddings and a Funeral - quite possibly one of the funniest films ever.. I hate Hugh Grant, but love him in this!
  • Forrest Gump - such an incredible film.. always makes me laugh and then cry, Tom Hanks is class!
  • Saving Private Ryan - I'm a bit of a war film addict, and this is by far my favourite.. made the mistake of watching it last Christmas and I was in floods in front of my whole family :/
  • Bourne Films - All three are so amazing, (Matt Damon <3)
  • Disney Films in general (Little Mermaid, Lion King, Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast, etc) - I've recently become re-obsessed with all things Disney.. Brings back soo many good memories, and is it bad that I have half the songs on my iPod?!
  • Toy Story - Absolute favourite Disney film. I was ridiculously excited when Toy Story 3 came out, and cried so much when they were about to die <3
  • The Proposal - such a brilliant film, I think Sandra Bullock is an amazing actress, and phwoooorr Ryan Reynolds ;)
  • The Hangover - so funny, always makes me laugh uncontrollably :L
Thankyou for reading, and please let me know what your favourite films are, I'm a bit obsessed ;)

So Day 1 - My favourite song...

To be perfectly honest, I don't have one favourite song. I have over 7000 songs on my iPod and I go through phases of loving and hating artists and songs. However, there are a couple of songs that always make me stop and listen to them that I think I will always love in one way or another. So here it goes...

  • Romeo and Juliet - Dire Straits - I first heard this song when The Killers covered it and put it on their album Sawdust. I absolutely loved their version, but when I heard the original I was truely blown away, it is so magical :)
  • Mr Brightside - The Killers - I love this band beyond belief. They were the first real rock-type band I really listened to and loved, and Hot Fuss was probably the first album I listened to all the way through without skipping a song (bearing in mind I was about 10!). I love so many of their songs and Brandon Flowers has got to be one of the most beautiful men alive, but this song always seems to make me feel amazing and happy..... OOOO and I'm going to see them in Hyde Park soon - I'm pretty damn sure I will cry :)
  • Folding Stars - Biffy Clyro - Saw these guys live in December and wow I love Simon Neil sooooooo much! His voice was even more amazing than I expected and it was probably one of the best nights of my life... I was sooo close to him (will put a picture at the end!) This song just really stood out, it is so beautiful :)
  • Free Falling - John Mayer - Normally, I am fairly against covers of songs, and rarely think that they are better than the original.. But I LOVELOVELOVE this song and this mans voice.. I think he writes some fantastic songs too, but this just stands out to me as its the song that introduced me to him.
  • Let It Be - The Beatles - One of my favourite songs for when I'm feeling down.. I just wish I had been around when they were, incredible lads, incredible music :)
  • Starlight/Time is Running Out - Muse - both great songs by a truely talented band. Damn you Kate Hudson!
  • White Blank Page - Mumford and Sons - Words cannot describe how much I love this band. Marcus just makes me melt <3
Wow sorry, bit long there! Just practicing for my English exam obviously - which is next week - eek :S

Please post a comment (if you've got this far!) letting me know what your favourite song is, and I guess this is a sort of tag, so I will tag anyone who reads this ;)

Roll on Simon Neil yumminess

The last photo is probably my favourite ever.. The edited version took too long to load, but I still love it :)

A little MUA Review

Ok, so I'm going to start reviewing some of the products I currently own, and first products in the shooting line are the MUA (Makeup Academy) eyeshadows.

There has been a fair amount of hype about this line across various blogs and on youtube, so a couple of weeks ago, I thought it was about time I tried some of their products.

I bought two colours: Shade 18 (Below left) and Shade 17 (Below right) - both matt eyeshadows:

Shade 18 is a beautiful vibrant looking matt purple.

Shade 17 is a matt sand colour.

Above are the two colours swatched with any without a base (top is without a base)

So what do I think?
  • First lets talk price.. All the products in the MUA range cost just £1. For that price you cant go wrong really. I think the products are perfect for people like me who are begining to establish a makeup collection and are not sure what colours work, etc, but also anyone who just wants to try out new colours without wasting large amounts of money on something that may not work, suit them, etc.
  • Now the quality.. For the price I really wasn't expecting much at all from these shadows, but when applied on their own they are pretty pigmented. I mean obviously not as pigmented as more high end brands, but still pretty good. However, when they are applied over a base the colours just come to life.. look how vibrent the purple is!
  • How long do they last? This is probably the products biggest downfall. There is almost no point in wearing these eyeshadows on their own (without some kind of primer). Bearing in mind that I do have fairly oily eyelids, these eyeshadows do not last very long and do crase (I have never hadd this problem with other eyeshadows before). However with a primer, they do last for a substantailly longer period of time.
Overall, I think these shadows are a really good deal, and I look forward to trying more products in the range (especially some of the 'pearl' shades). A review on the lipsticks and lipglosses will be coming soon too!

Hope you didn't find this too boring and thanks for reading! X

NOTD - 17 Fast Finish in Knockout Red

True to its name, this nail polish really shocked me. I bought it yesterday because the 17 polishes were on offer and I just thought why not? And boy am I glad I did.

It is completely opaque after one coat, really easy to apply, a fantastic vibrant red (the pictures do not do it justice) and it dried in seconds! And for £2.99, I don't think it gets much better!

Looked like this after one coat:

I also bought  17 Lasting Fix in Royal Rose and used it on my grandma (she asked if I could give her a manicure!) and she absolutely loved it.

Who said you have to go bankrupt to find a good quality nail polish ;)

NOTD - Revlon Minted

Thought I would just share my new absolute favourite nail polish. I bought this a last week and have been wearing it sincee :)

Firstly the colour. Like its name suggests it is a lovely pastel mint green, less blue than it appears in the picture.

It applies fairly easily - the brush could be larger, but i've used much worse! It doesn't take years to dry and takes two coats to achieve an opaque nail.

So far i've had it on for four days, which is an incredibly long time for me (i nomally change my nail colour every couple of days). I think this is mainly due to its staying power. I have a bad habit of peeling nail varnish off as soon as i see a chip, but so far no chips! It might have something to do with my new base and top coat (Nails Inc. A&E and Albert Bridge) which i also love, but either way i love the colour, and it is definately a new spring favourite :)

Hi guys!

So I'm new to this - it seems weird to be writing this down when I don't know if anyone will even read this!

I've been a follower of many beaty gurus on youtube for a while now and know how useful their reviews on products can be. I thought it was about time that I joined the beauty blogging bandwaggon!

But first, heres a little bit of info about me:
 - I live in England
 - I am a student, currently studying for my GCSE's (obviously not at this exact moment in time!)
 - I like my animals, chocolate and Simon Neil
 - I dislike Justin Bieber and the fact that there are some very noisy builders doing something to my neighbours garden atm - since when do builders work non-stop from 7.30 am to 6pm?!

And finally, thankyou to anyone who actually botheres to take a look at this page, even if it was an accident, and hopefully see you soon! X
